Victoire Paperweight

Editors' Notes
The Victoire paperweight from Lalique is being re-issued in satin finish crystal to mark the 150th anniversary of Rene Laliquees birth. In 1925 Rene Lalique made radiator caps that graced the radiator grills of 1930s cars. That is how the "27 famous mascotse were born. The Victoire mascot, an allegory of peace, celebrates the 10th anniversary of the signing of the armistice on the 11th of November 1918. The symbolism of the face is powerful. The windswept hair represents postwar movement as well as the motion of a car speeding forward.
