Stalacite Slice Cufflinks
Stalacite Slice Cufflinks

Deakin & Francis Stalacite Slice Cufflinks

$705.00
Stalactites hold tight to the ceiling and stalagmites might grow tall enough to meet them! Sliced from the roof of a cave in South America, these wonders of nature are created by layers upon layers of soluble minerals which drip down in water, gradually depositing themselves in the form of a spike. Vertical cavers have reported encountering stalactites measuring over 20 meters long and can take tens of thousands of years to form. The name 'stalactite" was first used by the seventeenth century Danish Physician Ole Worm. It derives from the Greek "stalaktos", which translates as "dripping" and "ites", meaning connected with or belonging to. Eye catching natural inclusions within the translucent amethyst create a radiant sparkle that make every pair completely unique. The open tri-claw sterling silver settings of these cufflinks maximise the light and bring out the incredible exquisiteness hidden within these subterranean beauties!
